Growing up with two younger siblings, old clothes, shoes, and toys were constantly being stuffed into trash bags. Most of the time these would sit for months before anyone had time to drop them off at Goodwill. One weekend, I went with my dad to donate a few of those bags.

The process seemed simple at first, but once we arrived, I noticed how time-consuming and uncertain it actually was. My dad didn’t take the receipt to list out each individual item within his donation and estimate each given value because he didn’t have the time or confidence to feel certain of his approximations. On the drive home, I asked what the purpose of even filling out a receipt was, and that was when he explained the system of deducting charitable donations.

From that moment, I started thinking: what if donating could be as effortless as scheduling a pickup, while  giving people accurate records for tax deductions and saving them effortless money? That idea became WeDeductIt. WeDeductIt is a service built to simplify generosity, save people time, and ensure their donations are valued fairly and transparently.
